Eliza Jennings, a nationally recognized leader in person-directed care, is searching for an Executive Director for its 65 apartment assisted living community, Devon Oaks, located in Westlake.
This position is responsible for leading the operations and services for Devon Oaks through implementing strategic initiatives, assuring sound fiscal management, quality care and services, and resident satisfaction.
It also includes oversight of our SAIDO program. A groundbreaking, non-pharmaceutical intervention that has been shown to reduce and even reverse symptoms of dementia. Eliza Jennings is the only organization in the United States to offer SAIDO.
Duties & Responsibilities
Lead implementation of Network strategic plan through the development of goals and objectives for Devon Oaks.
Direct and manage staff: select, hire, train, counsel, assure performance and morale. Evaluate department structure and roles to assure efficiency and effectiveness and provide professional growth opportunities.
Ensure systems and processes are in place to continuously monitor quality of care, service delivery and regulatory compliance. Review quality indicator outcomes; identify and address variances.
Oversee the implementation of person-centered care.
Prepare and administer operating and capital budgets; monitor expenditures and analyze and resolve variances.
Identify, develop and implement revenue generating programs. Support sales process, interacting with potential residents and their families to drive community occupancy.
Maintain positive relations with a variety of publics: residents, residents' families,
employees, hospitals, referral agencies, physicians and government officials.
Conduct and participate in resident council meetings and family focus groups.
Oversee and sustain high customer satisfaction via annual survey benchmarks, responses to ongoing requests and concerns, and by addressing post-discharge survey responses.
Oversee implementation of new programs, training and systems.
Assure the safety and security of the community's residents, employees and physical and financial resources.
Select vendors, obtain quotes, negotiate contracts and monitor vendor performance.
Assure compliance with all accreditation agencies.
Work closely with the Board of Directors; provide required financial and quality assurance reports.
Create and sustain a positive climate of person centered care and employee empowerment and satisfaction. Participate in survey administration and feedback. Implement action steps.
Conduct monthly staff meetings addressing safety, customer service, wellness, best
practices, staff appreciation and open forum.
Process and/or monitor unemployment and workers' compensation claims; manage employee benefits and address inquiries by staff.
Oversee and manage the facility and staff performance improvement projects; report and document accordingly.
Conduct and participate in resident council meetings, family focus groups and one to one problem solving.
General Requirements:
Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to explain/convey information
in successful manner.
Ability to respond to public, staff or stakeholder inquiries.
Education:
Baccalaureate Degree in related field.
Current Nursing Home Administrator's License in the state of Ohio preferred.
Experience:
Seasoned level of general management, leadership, and healthcare administration experience in residential care.
